Paddington Rides Again

Hello Readers,

You might remember my previous blog post where I gushed over the 2015 film, Paddington. I am delighted to do the same for that film's sequel, the 2017 film, Paddington 2. The rule of diminishing returns is a trend seen all too often through cinema. I mean, when was the last time you were truly excited about a new Marvel release? Paddington 2 does well to escape that misfortune as it is as full of magic and brilliantly acted as the first film. With the addition of Brendan Gleeson (who plays an untrustworthy man who travels by balloon for the second time in his career) there was no way for this sequel to not be a certified banger. The infectiousness of Paddington comes across in and through the screen as he single-handedly solves British prison reform. With a third movie on the way focused on the tease we got at the end of the film we will see the small bear from Darkest Peru tested for his staying power. However, if as much thought and care is put into the film as the first two then we will no doubt have one of the greatest trilogies of family films ever made. Watch these movies when you're sad.
